Urban Land, the magazine of the Urban Land Institute, featured development trends throughout the Midwest in their January/February 2017 issue. Various developers, architects, and city planners in the Midwest shared their unique perspectives on current operations and forecasts for the future.
Joe Alexander, President of The Alexander Company, was interviewed given The Alexander Company’s national development experience, and recent/ongoing developments in Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin.
“The two cities are seeing revitalization, reinvestment, and new investment,” says Joe Alexander. “We expect continued development of office and market-rate multifamily projects. There is also an increasingly pent-up market for condominiums and urban townhomes. Driven by the millennial generation’s desire to live/work/play in an urban setting, Madison has seen an explosion of new projects incorporating a mix of residential, retail, and office.”
