The Marketplace Master Development included the restoration of Madison’s former City Market, a historic shoe factory that would come to be known as Das Kronenberg, and the new construction of 17 condominium homes known as Dayton Row.

Both City Market and Das Kronenberg sit within walking distance of the State Capitol in downtown Madison, and prior to rehabilitation, both we derelict buildings – City Market, an excellent example of non-residential prairie style architecture, was slated for demolition.

The rehabilitation of these structures, along with the new construction of the Dayton Row townhomes, served as a beacon for near east side development in the City of Madison and provided a variety of new housing options to the neighborhood.
