Located downtown in Kansas City, Missouri, the former Federal Courthouse was deemed surplus and left vacant when new facilities were built nearby. Constructed in the late 1930s and having hosted Harry Truman’s offices, as well as cases tried by Thurgood Marshall, the building is steeped in history.

The Courthouse is ideally situated along the business district’s primary thoroughfare between the River Market and the city’s entertainment district, making its rehabilitation a key contributor to Kansas City’s downtown renaissance.

After the Professional Building Lofts, the Courthouse Lofts mark the second historic adaptive reuse of a structure completed by The Alexander Company in downtown Kansas City.

Completed in 2011, the Courthouse Lofts consist of 176 workforce housing multifamily apartments and 12,000 square feet of commercial space.
