DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) — Residents and business owners in Danville’s River District are witnessing a significant transformation as the area experiences rapid growth and development.
Felicia Bradshaw, a River District resident, expressed her enthusiasm for the changes, saying, “It’s growing a lot, it’s growing fast. All of these old buildings are turning into some amazing places to live, and we really enjoy it so much so, that our family comes to visit on a regular basis.”
The city has invested more than $50 million in grants and taxpayer funding since committing to redevelop the area in 2011. Austin Hutchinson, a Danville resident, commented on the progress, stating, “I think it’s a net good gain for the community. I think, you know, Danville’s definitely grown a lot in the last decade, decade and a half.”
