GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Greensboro is taking the next step in redeveloping the corner of South Elm Street and West Gate City Boulevard.

The Alexander Company, based out of Wisconsin, will present its sales purchase agreement at the city council meeting on Tuesday night. This comes after the city chose to move forward with the Alexander Company over its competitor, AZ development, in early December.

At the city council meeting, the Alexander Company will walk council members through the sales purchase agreement. According to Dave Vos, the Alexander Company’s development project manager, they’ve made changes to the plan to address public concerns. If the city council members like the plan, they will approve the sales purchase agreement.

“Our main need is socio-economically diverse housing and retail, particularly grocery stores,” said Deena Hayes-Greene, a resident.
