Marketing Internship

The Alexander Company has an opening for a Marketing Internship from June through September of 2024.

 

Description

In this role you will collaborate with cross-functional teams – primarily development and operations, to create and maintain marketing plans/collateral and aid in  business development. The internship program aims to provide opportunities to learn the industry, build functional knowledge, gain exposure, and build your network. This is accomplished through participation in day-to-day marketing activities, professional development initiatives, and mentorship.

Responsibilities

The marketing intern will work with  business development to provide marketing and analytical support to the development and operations departments regarding the creation and management of various marketing initiatives. Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Assist with the overall marketing and communications needs in collaboration with business development
  • Participate in meetings, creative brainstorms, and strategic discussions
  • Engage in new business support activities such as market research, list generation, and outreach
  • Manage and create content for multiple channels for multiple entities, including e-mail, social, website, review, and apartment listing platforms
  • Ensure consistency across multiple brands and channels
  • Analyze and track development and operations performance and competitor performance
  • Create and implement marketing plans to combat occupancy concerns in operating properties
  • Support business development with administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Applicants must be in their third of fourth year of pursuing a degree in a field related to marketing or communications, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to commit 20-30 hours per week (June through September) – hours are flexible to work with your class schedule
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Experience in managing content and engagement of brand social platforms
  • A creative mind and great communicator with excellent writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks

Advantageous Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
  • Working knowledge of website content management platforms, specifically WordPress
